Amantes & Diamantes

Love, love, love found everywhere. In a far away land and discovered by the flickering of my adventurous hand, clicking everywhere. I wish I had closer girlfriends like her.

Mi Casa es tu Casa [The Nowhere Castle]

This is Xilitla, a little place in the San Luis Potosi jungle where Edward James created this surreal garden where stairs that take you up in the air but end there without making any sense and other constructions that seem to be put there just for the fun of it.
I personally have never been in The Huasteca Potosina, but I have seen pictures of my friends and seriously this place is to die for! I wish so hard to go there anytime soon and to have an awesome camera when I go so I can take pictures of everything I want. What I like the most about this places is that it reminds me of the film The Secret Garden, it is like a secret place buried into the depths of the jungle with so much greenery surrounding it... aw pure magic! Well for now is on my bucket list of places to visit, but who knows maybe in a few posts I will be sharing my own pictures of this magical place.

An empty cage girl if you kill that bird

Eyes are the windows to the soul. A statement I truly believe in, people often ask me, why are you a vegetarian? If you eat plants that means they suffer too! but there is a difference to me to eat something that could had been staring at you and thinking something of you than a plant that could had suffer but without knowing it. The thing is that we can all live in harmony, we can use them without treating them badly or killing them.
This is a string of photographs taken by Oscar Ciutat called "Caged" The project was to take photos of caged animals in a zoo, to have a documentation of the animals' eyes to try to figure out if they looked sad because they weren't free, now the only way to prove this is to have the same photos of free animals in the wild, nonetheless I look at their eyes without anything to compare to and still I feel so sad, empty and wanting to free all the animals of every zoo in the world...
It really makes you think if how we do things and the things we do are going to make us free and happy in the end.

I am not a photographer, but my friend is!

I have been meaning to write about my best friend Rodrigo de Anda VillicaƱa, so finally here is my little tribute to his wonderful work. Right now he is studying in Madrid, Spain and we met in Barcelona while I was still living there, we always have so much fun.
I miss him so much, but rather than want him back I wish we could both live in Spain :)
These are a few of my favorite photographs of his, he has also worked with me but I am kind of shy of showing my face here...
Photo # five is also about a short film in which he was working on, he is just so talented!
Check out more of his work on his web page here
The photos have been taken here in Mexico, Madrid and Argentina.
