lavender laundry salts

You used to write poems
Now you only write grocery lists
In fact just deleted a list to write this
Oh the irony
The dream that is lost
Along with past lover kisses
And desire to be anything great
He told you once you'd be
You didn't believe it
So it never really happened
But happiness is not lacking
For your life has been happy thus far
Domestic bliss
Of a childless life
And yet you wonder
Late at night, when darkness overcomes you
And all you hear is the soft breathing
Of love
Of the choices you've made
Could it have been different?
Maybe not
No answer
Life is great
Go to sleep now
You must remember in the morning
To buy laundry salts after work
You just ran out of them
